Paying Tribute to the People Who Took Aviation
from the Flight Deck of a Navy Carrier to Man's First Steps on the Moon
Grumman Memorial Park is a volunteer effort paying tribute to the incredible advances in aviation and aerospace that took place on Long Island, thanks to the teamwork of the employees of Grumman Corporation. This dedicated group of people took aviation from the flight deck of a Navy carrier to man's first steps on the moon.
Grumman Memorial Park is located on Route 25 near the Route 25A intersection and is situated on a one-acre site (with an additional nine acres of land for expansion) on the former Grumman Aerospace Flight Test Facility (Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant) in Calverton, Long Island, New York. The Park is due east of the 10,000-foot runway.
